Accredited, non-profit educational institutions that provide primary or secondary education, or higher education leading to a recognised degree.

In Indian terms, this means your institution must be:

1. Recognised by a government body (CBSE, ICSE, state board, UGC, AICTE, NMC, etc.)
2. Non-commercial in its educational purpose
3. Able to verify a domain that belongs to the institution

Who Does NOT Qualify

Coaching Institutes ❌ Not Eligible

IIT-JEE, NEET, CA, UPSC coaching centres do not qualify for GWS Education — regardless of size or number of students. They are commercial training businesses, not accredited educational institutions.

The Domain Requirement

This is the most important technical requirement. Your institution must have its own domain:

Common Reasons Indian Applications Are Rejected

Wrong document submitted: Submitting a school registration certificate instead of the board affiliation certificate. Use the document that shows recognition by CBSE/ICSE/UGC/AICTE specifically.

Domain not matching institution: Applying with schoolname.com but the school's website says www.differentname.com — Google expects the domain to clearly match the institution name.

Commercial entity: For-profit coaching institutes applying as schools. Google cross-checks institution type.

Domain not owned by institution: Using a shared hosting subdomain (e.g. school.hostingprovider.com) rather than a domain registered to the institution.

Our school has a gmail.com address — can we still apply?

You need an institutional domain first. You cannot apply with a gmail.com address. Get a .edu.in or .ac.in domain registered to your school (Cloudfy can assist), then apply. The process takes 1–2 weeks total.
