Fusion 360 CAM supports 2.5-axis milling, 3-axis milling, simultaneous 5-axis milling, turning, turning-milling, waterjet, laser/plasma cutting and wire EDM. It generates G-code for most CNC controllers including Fanuc, Haas, Mori Seiki and others through post-processors — many of which are free from the Autodesk CAM library.

Fusion 360 is cloud-based and runs on Windows, macOS and web browser. Files are stored in Autodesk Docs (cloud) and accessible from any device. This makes it particularly suitable for small teams working remotely or across multiple sites without a file server.

Generative design uses AI to automatically generate optimised part geometries based on design constraints, materials and manufacturing methods. You define loads, supports and objectives — Fusion 360 produces multiple design alternatives that meet the requirements. Study credits are included with paid plans.
